Consistant Profit is the idea of Matched Betting for me. I want to be able to do this full time as a career (sort of) that fits around my life. The problem with consistant profits from betting, even matched betting, is that it doesn't really exist. It doesn't matter how good you are as a trader or at matched betting, there's always going to be variance in your bets. |
It's bloody hot! Awaiting news that it's the hottest Friday since records began or something. The post world cup / pre-football season betting lull is limiting what I'm getting on, but as you might have read yesterday about my Open Championship betting there's still plenty to be done, and new bookmakers to sign up to.
Friday
In a complete write off of a day I do some free spins at my BGO Bingo account, which gets lost in wagering, and also back and lay a free £5 bet I have lying around at Unibet horse loses and I'm up £3 off the Lay

It's the 3rd / 4th place World Cup Playoff (and like Van Gaal I don't understand the point of it) and I hit a round of CS bets on Will Hill, Betfair and Betfred. None of the scores I've managed to get decent odds on come close, there is no extra time either so no refunds. Worse still my flatmate picks 3-0 Holland on his betslip making more profit than me!

Sunday
The World Cup final, but as it's my little one's Christening (the Mrs picked the day!) all day so apart from taking the mandatory price boosts at Party Bets (Messi to score first 10.00, Argies to win 5.00) I have nothing on the final. It's a drab affair anyway from what I watch of it, and as Messi does not score first the Argies don't score at all (no free £5 bets at 888Sport) and they lose it's a bit of a right off. Of course though if I had done my usual set of bets would have had refunds galore. It's a thoroughly depressing end to what has been despite expectations a very exciting world cup.

That's it then, need to reassess float, Germany winning does not get me any refunds but had them on price boosts at 32 Red and Bet Victor so make some money out of the world cup book. Probably around £100 up from this I've been punting in free bets etc so I have no real record of what I'm up or down. I decide to try some new sites out in the off season and open an Exclusive Bet account who have a 50% matched bonus scheme with Skrill accepted. Odds are not great but with a bit of a buffer with the bonus take 2.70 to 2.88 laying on Dynamo Kiev to win. They add your bonus after first bet has settled and you can keep it separate which is handy. I'm slight up on Kiev win and bonus credited for the next day.

I go back to exclusive bet and have my 50% bonus to use of original deposit and stick it on Shamrock to draw with Wolves at 5.00 to 6.00 lay. Wagering requirement (WR) is x 10 and I don't want to build up a huge balance at such an untested site. Shamrock get well beaten and I'm +£30 off the £50 bonus (insert lucky four leaf clover pun here). Live Support are quick and helpful as I try to withdraw my winnings which are separate from the bonus. (PLEASE NOTE WITHDRAWAL NOT YET IN, asking me for front and back photocopy of debit card as well as the standard ID, no reason not to trust them but don't say I did not warn you if you have issues)

Watching Talanksy battle up a mountain on his own through pain and tears 30 mins behind the rest of the tour is so inspiring I sign up for park run – imagining I will be in the same state as him after 5k Saturday morning. (There is a TGT forum group on park runners, but doubt I'll be troubling the top runners with my times just yet!). Betting wise it's all about getting a book sorted for the open, including refunds if McIlroy wins and lots of each way picks (practically the top 15 in fact). Find a cheeky arb on Celtic drawing at Unibet with a residual £5 I have there and in play lay at Betfair. Celts win but I'm slightly up

Talansky's tour withdrawal leaves me thinking about quitting the park run Saturday... I decide to try another new site too raise my spirits so deposit into Trip bet who have a small £25 welcome bonus. If you have a Skrill account (sign up here if you don't, as you really need one) you might have noticed them on their offers page. The odds there are shocking, so have a very large underlay on Minsk vs Mpa (One of these crazy Europa League qualifying ties!). Although the account works in £s they convert bonus into Euros so only get £20 bonus, but it's immediately credited so with odds of 4.5 to 5.2 on the draw I get £32 in Smarkets from this so an easy £12. I've been advised that Trip bet are reliable for payouts and reloads so might be one to look into. I also take up Coral on their £5 for every £10 wagered on Fruity slots. I'm beginning to forget what a bonus round looks like on a slot machine, my £10 is turned into £3 I'll see what WR they stick on the £5 I'm due back.

Ok so pretty small stakes on those really but I'm kind of dipping my toes back in the water here after the world cup. Will be looking to get ready for the new footy season next month while keeping things ticking over inbetween. In terms of new site feedback.
Trip Bet Seem ok, not great odds but easy bonus to use and site navigation is not too difficult. Haven't made a withdrawal yet as I bust the bonus. Odds are so bad it'll take another bonus to get me back in. |
