It's not just the type of bets you can place; accumulators, trixies, first past the post, tote, scorecast, tricast etc. There are also the terms for the people involved; bookies, mugs, degans, punters etc. Then when you add in the terminology of value betting and matched betting; lays, backs, if bets, sharbing etc and you've basically got the recipe for a lot of homework.
For the most part if you've ever placed a bet, you'll be alright with the basics of matched betting, maybe needing to brush up on only a few terms that relate specifically to laying and extracting value from free bets (stake returned, stake not returned, risk free etc).
If that's the case then all you need to do to start your education is go to The Gambling Times and read their guide to betting terminology. It's got it all in there and is regularly updated with improved definitions and new terminology. Add in the links to other related articles and information and it ticks all the boxes.
