I am not a tipster. The Matched Betting Blog is about Matched Betting, and......Blogging. More than that it's about educating people on how they too can make some money and beat the bookies (or bash the bookies or whatever this month's vogue term is). With the League Cup welcoming Premier League teams into the fray tonight, it's a good time to continue that education.......else I fear (with no judgement) that many of you will be mugs today. |
Well yes, in all liklihood they are. But you're probably not going to bet on just one match. Why not turn two guaranteed home banker wins into a nice double, or even a treble. The odds get multiplied and suddenly you've selected a handful of odds on results and are looking at a great windfall when it comes in.
For today's league cup fixtures there are 12 odds on matches involving teams playing lower league opposition. A £1 bet on them at Coral would return upwards of £175.
It's not that easy though. At this stage of the League Cup last season 4 teams were knocked out by lower league opposition, inlcuding Crystal Palace from the Premier League.
Remember also, the odds you're getting aren't the true odds on the outcome of the match. The odds are what the bookmaker is prepared to offer you, but they're factoring their costs and profit into that as well. The actual chances of your result coming in are considerably less than the odds you're being offered.
With each game added to an accumulator, you’re multiplying both your potential winnings and the margins of the bookmaker. That's why bookmakers love accumulators so much, and why you should probably be avoiding them, they simply aren't value bets.
If you're looking for a bet then at least have a go at Uni Bet and BetBright first as they're offering risk free first bets. After that you'd be better off investigating matched betting and advantage play betting some more. Less risk, more winners, more profit.
Believe me, winning is far better than seeing another accumulator fail as a lower league team upsets the odds again.
